Share Your Sweets: Silly Sweets
Posted by Carey Jones, February 16, 2012 at 11:15 AM
Valentine's Day Peeps kebabs. Spicy cupcakes with blue cheese frosting. A dessert that looks like tadpoles! We asked for silly sweets, and that's what you gave us. Check them out in the slideshow above.
Next Week
Fudgy or cakey, mint-speckled or caramel-topped, we're crazy about brownies—and we bet you are, too. So for next week's Share Your Sweets, we're throwing a brownie party. Send us a few words on why your brownie recipe rocks, shoot us a photo (along with a link to the recipe!) and we'll include it in next week's roundup. Be sure to send it in no later than Tuesday, February 21st so we can include it in next Thursday's Share Your Sweets on February 23rd.
If you're new to Share Your Sweets, take a peep at the rules here. A few notes: we can only take one submission per person, so pick your favorite (or the most recent shot) and send it in. Also, Share Your Sweets is just for the folks at home; no pros or companies! If you want to really impress us, crop your photo so it's 610 pixels wide and 458 pixels tall.

Shannon's Nest Cookies
"I dressed these up recently for Valentine's Day, but they originated as a simple little nest-shaped sugar cookie you make by pushing your dough through a ricer. Top them with a few egg-shaped candies (I use Peanut M&M's) and you have a tiny bird's nest that will make kids and adults giggle." —

Primlani's Chai Sweet Chili Cupcakes with Blue Cheese Frosting
"I consider myself a tad sweet and a lot spicy. Keeping that in mind I wanted to create something unique for my Superbowl Theme Party. The result - Chai Sweet Chili Cupcakes with Blue Cheese Frosting (sweet & spicy in each bite)." —

Karen's Valentine Peep Kebabs
"Couldn't resist, always looking for an excuse to use Peeps during any holiday. Is it the memories from my childhood or the bright colors that capture my affections? EASY INSTRUCTIONS: Gather the candy. Poke anything you can, with the Peeps inter-mixed onto a sharp skewer. Repeat several times. Devour immediately. What could be easier! Tip: Get the longest skewers you can find, they hold more candy :)" —

Madelyn's Parcha Yogurt
"I’ve been told these look like tadpoles… but people get a kick when they first see my version of “fruit on the top” yogurt with fresh passion fruit pulp and seeds. It may look awkward, but it’s fun to see people’s faces… and ultimately, tastes deliciously tart and natural." —

Sophie's Mini Mario ‘Shroomcakes'
"I'm a huge Super Mario nerd, so naturally I had to recreate my favorite game in my favorite medium--cake. Here’s a quick and clever little recipe for Mini Mario ‘Shroomcakes'! It’s really more of a concept. So easy and adorable.
It’d be great for a child’s birthday party. Or a not-child’s birthday party. Or perhaps to give your friend a Power-up? We could all use one of those." —
